Radnoti X Countdown - 4 days to go (5th October 2020)

So what is Radnoti X about?

Book one, Gubacsi Dulu was the awakening of our 'hero' Karina Reif from her pointless existence in the depths of corruption and devilry within humanity. Whether she grows into the reluctant hero troupe by the end is only the reader's choice. Did she accept the challenge? Does she even know what it is? Is she going to dive into a hole and hide, or fight the good fight...?

Well, Radnoti X takes us into the next stage of Karina's development, or at least, a clearer picture as to what she must do... or thereabouts... or not... maybe... I can't really say. What you expect, does it really ever happen? All you can be sure of is that there is a beginning, a middle and an end. Radnoti X is the middle.

Radnoti X Countdown... 5 days to go (5th October 2020)

At first I planned to write ONE BOOK... Gubacsi Dulu. The end would be open, much like so many sci-fi books, films and TV series. So, although one reviewer mentioned that Gubacsi ends as though another book follows, that wasn't my initial plan. One shot deal. Done. Then the flea got my ear. A would-be publisher (who finally didn't) asked if it was the first book in a series... and I said...."Yes???"..."So where are the other books?"... oh...

So that's how Humanity H2O series came into being. Radnoti X (ten) is finished and waiting to be published, and the third book, Farkas Alpha is already taking shape. I was worried how my No.1 Beta reader (Miss Reif) would take the second book, but she loved it, as did Jasper T Scott, so as far as I'm concerned, it's a success already. It just needs to go public for you and others to read. Looking forward to the whole range of reviews on this one...

Science Fiction influences - One great comedy sci-fi series!

While working on Farkas Alpha, I was able to add a small reference to one of my all-time favourite sci-fi TV series. The first four or five series were fantastic and funny, while afterwards, it kind of got 'old hat' as the actors became what I feel complacent and content in their roles. I still watched ALL the series, even tried to watch the American attempt, but unfortunately, the series is quite 'British' in humour.

Have you guessed it yet? Yes, it's Red Dwarf!

When the first series came out, it was a low-budget BBC2 series, and when it first came out, the chances of it becoming big were slim, but then it began to shine! And more and more people watched, it became a cult TV show, and then... it lost its charm, I think, because of its success - money, fame... but hey! Those first series were excellent!

I've just watched 'Red Dwarf: The Promised Land'. It came out in April and because of COVID-19, it slipped my mind... it brought back some wonderful smeggy memories (though I needed to speed it up a bit).

Anyway, if you'd like to find out what reference (just a little one but aren't they all) I made in book three (Farkas Alpha) from Red Dwarf, pre-order now!

Or you could just get the whole series!

Radnoti X ready! Waiting for the 5th of October...

Got the finishing touches to Radnoti X today, two forewords, one from the 'master' himself, Jasper T Scott, USA Today Bestselling Science Fiction author, and the other from Karina Reif herself (the real one).

Here's what they said...

Foreword from the Master

I’ve known Dani J. Caile for seven years now, pretty much since my writing career began. He’s been there since the beginning, helping me edit and proofread my own books. He’s consistently made improvements to my own work over the years, for which I am deeply grateful. Throughout that time, Dani has been writing his own books, perfecting them, and putting himself out there time and again.

Dani Caile is probably one of the most underappreciated writers I know. He deserves to have a much bigger audience than he does, but with the popularity of this latest series I think perhaps he’ll finally get there.

I’ve read several of Dani’s books now, including this latest series, and I can say without reservation that his writing has only gotten better over the years. This latest book is a superb example of that—mystery, twists, and deep compelling characters with flaws that make them feel like people you’ve known for ages. Radnoti X and the entire Humanity H2O series is truly excellent sci-fi, but it’s even better writing. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a typo in Dani’s work, and even harder-pressed to predict what’s coming next. I couldn’t stop turning the pages, and I’m quite sure that you won’t be able to either.

If you’ve gotten this far, read on! Because you’re in for a treat.

Jasper T. Scott

USA Today Bestselling Author

...and...

Foreword from the Muse

Yet again I was immortalised by Dani – in name only – and yet again he blew my mind! I read it all in one sitting as I couldn’t put it down. When I finished I wanted to find out what happens next so my first thought was go to where Dani lives and camp outside his house until he showed me the third book. The whole story is too good to be true, it really speaks to your soul, it’s like a small package of knowledge, a guide. I probably learnt more biology, physics and human nature than I ever did before! If anyone knows where I can get a brain implant let me know, I have an abstract algebra test coming up!

I want to thank Dani for the experience and for showing the world in its real form. I’ll have to make sure I put the whole trilogy on my bedside table when they all come out... the first one feels lonely there.

Karina Reif (the real one)

If those aren't enough to want you to read the second book in the Humanity H2O series, I don't know what is...

Twitter knows the TRUTH! Locked out... #BLM

It took me a while to get back on Twitter after someone reported one of my tweets.

After the fiasco trial of the murderers of Breona Taylor in Louisville, where the police officers who murdered her while she was sleeping in her own bed in her own house were let off, I sent a Tweet to the Louisville Police Department...

Then Twitter locked my account for breaching Twitter Rules. When is TELLING THE TRUTH a bad thing? Apparently when it's against WHITE POLICE OFFICERS WHO MURDERED AN INNOCENT BLACK WOMAN?
At first I thought Twitter was... well, you know, especially after all the hassle I had trying to unlock the account. They wouldn't send the access code, and when they finally sent one, it was the wrong one! And then they sent me as many as I'd asked for but unfortunately, my phone went crazy and the battery died in an hour...
When I got home, I plugged in my phone to charge and instantly tried Twitter. I found this in my emails...

So, Twitter knows the truth, and they weren't the ones who locked me out. LMPD or someone who thinks 'Blue Lives Matter' probably reported me.

Police Reform is needed.
Racism needs to stop.
Black Lives Matter! #BLM

Science Fiction influences...films

So many films have influenced me in the sci-fi genre, too many to be able to mention them all here. The classics need to be mentioned, and the future classics, too. Let's just run through the pictures...

This film above... who are we, what are we, is there someone else out there? So many questions...

Only a few more years to go...

What if life on other planets was not how we see life at all? And yet...

Or what if we really aren't alone...

Or maybe we are alone and technology will overpower us?

But maybe there is life... and we treat it like any other 'undesirable'?

Or does it all come down to just profit?

There are SOOO many good sci-fi movies out there, these are just a few that came to mind.
My book series is out there, too, going strong!

Science Fiction influences... TV shows!

When I grew up, TV was the thing, the biggest influencer in my life and those around me. Of course, growing up in the UK, there was, in his many forms, ...

And then those great series...

And of course...

And Star Trek has moved on since that Original Series, and I've watched them all! I can't say I had a favourite because they were all good in their own way. The last series was great, too!

And something slightly different, but the same... Who can't like this one!

Gubacsi Dulu ...two more 5 stars AND a FANTASTIC review!

Now there are 27 ratings and 16 reviews for Gubacsi Dulu! Collecting them well, I'm really pleased that people were able to grab it when it was free and also able to read it through KENP AND of course the sales!

Today I received a 5 star rating internationally (thank you!)... and then!!! another 5 star on Amazon.com WITH a FANTASTIC review! Looks like Mr. R. Adkins 'got' it! Thank you, sir! Read this, he kinda gives the story away but what a great summary! Maybe the next 5 star rating will make the book hit 4.0 out of 5 (due to those poor souls who didn't 'get' it)...

It's still there, waiting for your opinion, rating, review...

Gubacsi Dulu... 25 ratings (a new 5 star!)

It was a slow weekend (slightly ill but still working on Farkas Alpha), with KENP moving along (thank you, whoever you are!) and half a dozen sales (thank you!), and Gubacsi Dulu also recieved another 5 star rating on Amazon.com. Thank you to all who made me reach 25 ratings (15 reviews)!

But there's still room for more! And Radnoti X is going to 'hit the streets' soon! It's still at #2 New Release in Children's Steampunk (really, I put all 3 books in Juvenile Steampunk but I guess Amazon only has Children's as a category)

Some people have already asked me, the 'X' in Radnoti...is it 'X' or 'ten'? The latter. I already have an older novel called 'Manna-X', where the 'X' was 'x'. It's a small part of conceptual continuity (Frank Zappa) I mentioned earlier...

And in that spirit...reviews and pre-orders are welcome!

Humanity H2O series...

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08H8GNYKP

Science Fiction Influences...books

My new Humanity H2O 3 book series has, of course, influences, both in book and film. Of course I love all sci-fi films, I watch them all, but some influence stronger than others. First, the books...

There was this short story, I read it when I was a teenager and every now and then I read it again. Blood Music by Greg Bear. There is also a novel which I read as soon as I had the money (and inclination) to buy it.

I then read more Greg Bear novels which are more 'typical' sci-fi, then moved on to Asimov, etc.

Next, of course, there's Flowers for Algeron - what more can I say about this one?

And I can't NOT say I wasn't influenced by this one...!

And his many other books and radio series (of which there were three)!

Over 10,000 KENP read! Another first!

For such a small author as myself, these last few weeks have been CRAZY! Now another first, what with the 'New Release' banners, the 1000+ free downloads, a growing collection of sales and reviews (including reviews from across the globe and the full range of stars available)... over 10,000 KENP (Kindle Edition Normalised Pages) have been read by those members of Amazon in Canada, the UK, Australia and those connected to Amazon.com!

And this is only the beginning of the whole journey, the start of the story... Book 1 in the Humanity H2O series. Maybe the whole series will bomb, maybe it'll be 'respectable', maybe it'll go big... who knows. All I know is it's been a GREAT few weeks, all thanks to those who helped me get this far (friends, acquaintances, readers, reviewers).

Have a look at what people say about Gubacsi Dulu...

Maybe even think about pre-ordering the next two...

Radnoti X No.1 New Release in subcategory AGAIN!

Yes, as with Gubacsi Dulu, Radnoti X received the #1 New Release orange banner ONCE AGAIN in the subcategory Children's Steampunk!

It was a 'slow' day yesterday, some KENP, a sale, though a little bird told me there were some Paperback sales of Gubacsi Dulu coming... haven't seen anything yet. And I'm working on Farkas Alpha...looking good!

So, come, browse the Humanity H2O series...

Well, more pre-orders and sales means this in the subcategory Children's Steampunk...

Gubacsi Dulu is back at No.7 and Radnoti X is back at #1 New Release and Farkas Alpha is #2 AGAIN...the rollercoaster continues!

Starting to type up Farkas Alpha, though it has to be right! Can't let you down...

Still going strong! Gubacsi Dulu (and Radnoti X)!

Yes, the Humanity H2o series is still moving along, with Gubacsi Dulu with 22 ratings (just received an international 4 star, I think) and still #9 in Children's Steampunk, with Radnoti X (after being No.1 and Farkas Alpha No.2) is still No.3 New Release in the same sub category. Gubacsi Dulu is still also under the #100k ranking overall!

NEWS: I'm waiting on my Beta readers of Radnoti X, and will soon be able to publish. As for Farkas Alpha, I know where I'm going with it and I'm beginning to write - ideas are sprouting from its roots! Oh, what an end that'll be!

21 ratings, 15 reviews! 3.7 stars... Getting serious now!

What can I say? Yesterday, a ton of reviews came through, I almost couldn't keep up. I had to re-write this post a dozen times!

The majority today were 5 stars, a 4 and a 2 (no review). The general consensus is that the beginning is slow but then it heats up and keeps readers guessing, and they seem to enjoy it. I'll make a nice 'word chart' later when I get the time.

To cut a long story short, I'm still looking for reviews...(LOL, yeah, a glutton for punishment)... to pulverize those three 1 star reviews and one 2 star rating into non-existence. PLEASE HELP! DONATIONS ARE ALSO WELCOME! Send reviews payable to 'C.A.S.H.' (Centre for Aggravated Sensitive Hermits). ...no, you don't have to pay for reviews, or do you? Have you seen Amazon's rules? Anyone who has bought 50 dollars worth of books can review ANY book...without reading it... while those who downloaded a book for free, read it and want to review it, can't :-(

Learn something every day! A John Dryden moment

I finally got to sit down and read a few pages of 'Dryden's Mind and Art', a collection of essays written on the genius of John Dryden (1631-1700) - I only got halfway through the first essay before I was struck with SOMETHING NEW! Watch out, this could be too much for you (doubt it, considering you're here and reading this, you're kinda used to stuff by now).

Okay, so, it's a well-known fact that with his 'Origin of Species' (1859), Charles Darwin gave the world the idea of 'evolution' - and many in the USA still fight against the idea (dumbasses).

The first thing is... the book was actually called...

'On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life'

What a great title! Some people have already asked me why my titles for my 'How to' series keep getting longer... well, as you can see, books used to have long titles.

Anyway, I digress... oh look!

The Hind and the Panther (First Part) (1687) by John Dryden

The Fox and he came shuffl'd in the dark,

If ever they were stow'd in Noah's ark:

Perhaps not made for all their barking train

The Dog (a common species) will contain.

And some wild currs, who from their masters ran

Abhorring the supremacy of man,

In woods and caves the rebel-race began.

Do you see it? Dryden is suggesting that foxes were the 'wild currs' of dogs, unable to take Man's orders and become domesticated, and so they ran away as 'rebels'. Almost 200 years BEFORE Darwin, England's first appointed Poet Laureate wrote about evolution... or at least a 'hint' at it. Apparently, the idea of evolution had been around for a long time before Darwin was brave enough to write a whole scientific book about it. But hey, Dryden did it 172 years before him.

Speaking of writing, I've started on Book 3 of the Humanity H2O series, Farkas Alpha, and finishing off Radnoti X. Both are available to Pre-Order at this link... and Gubacsi Dulu is still there if you haven't got it yet!

Another #1 New Release! Radnoti X (Book2) + 10th rating of Gubacsi Dulu

This is starting to go crazy.

First, look, Radnoti X received the #1 New Release orange banner, just as Gubacsi Dulu did!

This is fantastic news! Still waiting on my Beta readers to tell me how they feel about it. And Books 1 + 2 can be seen close together in the subcategory 'Children's Steampunk (NOW...15 + 22 + 30) (really, I put it the Juvenile category, but hey)! Probably for the first and last time...

KENP has kind of died now for Gubacsi Dulu, the 'rush' is over...just waiting for more reviews, more feedback, BUT I did get another International non-review rating of 3 stars... so the International ratings look a little strange...

So, PLEASE, if you've read the book and Amazon allows you to review (rules, rules, rules), place a review...

https://www.amazon.com/Gubacsi-Dulu-Book1-Humanity-H20-ebook/dp/B08FTJTYCD

And if you've read Gubacsi Dulu and want to find out what happens to Officer Karina Reif, you can Pre-Order Books 2 + 3...

Radnoti X : Book 2 (Humanity H2O)*

*(the X is short for 'ten' - some people have asked)

https://www.amazon.com/Radnoti-Book-Humanity-Dani-Caile-ebook/dp/B08H3KL9BX

Farkas Alpha : Book 3 (Humanity H2O)

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08HKFDXFQ

UPDATE: Book 2 + 3 are #1 and #2 New Releases in the subcategory Children's Steampunk

Change and Development in Scenery and Setting + 9th Gubacsi Dulu 'rating'

Another first... a global rating without a review... yes, I got 3 stars from someone on the International sites, but no review. I didn't even know a reader could do that...I just googled it, and it seems Amazon allows real customers to anonymously do that...  https://www.vox.com/recode/2020/2/14/21121209/amazon-fake-reviews-one-tap-star-ratings-seller-feedback

So... Review No.9... 3 stars (no review, no feedback). Oh well...still at an average of 3.6 on Amazon.com and 3 on the Internationals... no change there, then. :-( But someone bought a paperback in Canada and an ebook on Amazon.com. Thank you! :-) And KENP was/is great-  I won't say how great, I might jinx it! It might stop!

Today, to help you understand the depth of thought (or not) put into the Humanity H2O sci-fi series, a little bit about scenery and setting vs. character development.

With my first series of book, the setting was the same: Earth. Kinda big, really. With my second (as yet unfinished) series, it was a small part of a continent which extended in the second book and (once I've written it) will also extend in the third. I'll work on it next year.

However, for this sci-fi series, Humanity H2O, I chose to 'develop' that idea. In the first book, it's a planet which is hot, open, with lots of space, though quite empty. In the second book...SPOILER ALERT... it's a 'facility', cold, closed, no huge open spaces. In the third, well... later, that would be TOO much of a spoiler. But you can see where I'm going with this. The setting changes, and with it, the development of the main character, Karina Reif. The environment creates our 'self', gives change to our lives. You can't fit a square block in a circular hole.

And Gubacsi Dulu is still being bought, read on KENP (touch wood) and staying in the top 100,000! And Pre-Orders for the others are happening... Dying for reviews though!

Winding down (?) the Gubacsi Dulu Party...?

Yes, it's been one hell of a ride! So many firsts for myself in my writing career, all due to the help of a certain few and of course my readers! 1000+ free downloads, KENP reads, pre-orders, ratings and ranks, even 1 star reviews, all milestones reached. Yes, we're not talking big numbers but it is something! I'm not writing to nobody, there is someone out there.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B08FTJTYCD

And now, as the dust begins to settle and things calm down, hopefully more reviews will come in, squashing those two 1 stars into oblivion (Yes, they're still there... 74-year-old Bernard G. needs to go back to education and smart up, methinks, the other one is a lost cause)

HANG ON! There's an upsurge again! And #1 New Release again! I'll take all you can give me!

Lovely...so, as I wait (and plead) for those readers who understand my writing to send in their thoughts and reviews of Gubacsi Dulu, Radnoti X, the second book in the series, is being finalised. A little shorter than the first, it is fully-packed with lots of goodies, mainly ***SPOILER***

So, in a few more days, I'll pass it over to my star reader, Miss KR herself, to give her view on the book and then I can go through the process of publication.

If you're interested in seeing how Officer Karina Reif gets on, pre-order is possible... many people have!

Desperately looking for reviews on Amazon International sites!

As you know, I have 8 reviews so far for 'Gubacsi Dulu', which all show up on Amazon.com...

Unfortunately, on the International sites (the UK, Canada, Australia, etc.), only 4 reviews appear...

This doesn't look good. I know, I know, people keep telling me, ignore the stupid 1 star reviews, but due to the success of the free promotion (1000+ free downloads), the book went everywhere, including to the illiterate, brain-dead 'don't make me think' horde. Out of 1000+ downloads, there's a chance the book will get into the hands of some people whose reading level is low... I find it strange that a 74-year-old man doesn't understand a book written in his own language when I know 9-year-olds who had no problem. His lawn could do with some watering, too. And what's he hiding in that huge basement? Anyway, if you've read the book, and you're not American, please leave a review (hopefully not a 1 or 2, that'll be just spiteful). Don't let the stupid take over. Please!

Keep up the good fight! Educate, educate, educate!

Another FIRST! ..though still looking for reviews...

Oh, this keeps getting better! For the first time EVER, my three latest books (1 available, 1 almost complete and 1 on the 'writing' board) are together in my Amazon Rank page!

Okay, so the ranking numbers aren't great, but this is the first time the same series has done this, and that I've had three novels all sitting together. I kept 'Baby Shoes' on the screenshot because it's always in the Top 5. All three books are also in the Top 100 of the subcategory 'Children's Steampunk' (#17,#52,#68) and Gubacsi Dulu still holds the #1 New Release.

So, good news! ...however... I'm still looking for reviews, especially due to those two crazy 1 star reviews, one from an illiterate and the other who rates something from reading 1/60th of the whole. So, PLEASE, if you have a little time and the possibility, write a little review for the book, every one of them helps.

https://www.amazon.com/Gubacsi-Dulu-Book1-Humanity-H20-ebook/dp/B08FTJTYCD

Gubacsi Dulu reviews 6th, 7th and 8th - two 5 stars! (and a 1...)

Gubacsi Dulu is STILL the #1 New Release in a subcategory Amazon gave my book... it keeps moving 1st, 2nd, 3rd, but due to KENP reads, it's there!

Radnoti X also has half a dozen Per-Orders, and orders for Farkas Alpha have started as well! NEVER in the history of my 10 years has this happened!

But the BEST news?

The other day I was honoured... I received two 5 star reviews, one from the great sci-fi series writer Jasper T. Scott on Amazon.com, and another from Chris Graham, 'Chris the Story Reading Ape' blogger. Both of them were essential in the success of the Gubacsi Dulu free promotion, so it was a special feeling to see such good reviews from them!

I really can't ask any more from these guys, they've been fantastic!

And of course, I'm still looking for reviews from you! The more the merrier, and more reviews means a greater opportunity that the book will be noticed...

https://www.amazon.com/Gubacsi-Dulu-Book1-Humanity-English-ebook/dp/B08FTJTYCD

But I'm not really happy about this 1 star review... the guy read one chapter... out of sixty, and put up a 1 star review...

That's like someone...

...stepping into a restaurant and shouting "This place sucks! The food's disgusting!" without trying the food.

...seeing a bus go by and saying "Wow, this bus service is really shit!" without even wanting to get on it.

...looking at a brand new car in a showroom and saying "Man, this drives like a whale!" without getting into the seat.

He asks... "Maybe it's me." ...maybe it is.
