More Sales! Castle and Ship!

Two more sales, one 'Castle' and one 'Ship'! Thank you, whoever you are, kind sir/madam/xe...
It makes me happy knowing a couple more paperbacks are out there in the world somewhere.
Looking back, there might even be almost IN TOTAL 10,000 copies of my works out there, from either sales or free promotions, excluding the freebies from Smashwords.
I'd love to know where they are... and how come no reviews are up on Amazon... maybe that's a GOOD thing...
So, perhaps the third part of the trilogy is needed...

...actually, I already have a title and a plot, I just have to sit down and put those little letters together to make words which in time make sentences, paragraphs, pages, chapters, and finally a first draft...

Here are the links to the first two (if you want an ebook copy of the 2nd, reply to this post!)

How to Build a Castle in Seven Easy Steps

How to Sink a Ship (in eight long excruciatingly terrifying stinkingly evil nights)

Great 'review'...from my Publisher!

This doesn't often happen.
My publisher, Lion by Line, gave a 'shout out' to my book "How to Sink a Ship" on their Facebook page... or was it "How to Build a Castle"... I wasn't sure, they kinda got the title wrong in the 'shout out' but hey, beggars can't be choosers. My work was recognised!
Apparently they were at LA BookFest and people sought them out in hopes of finding sequels to ones they've enjoyed, which included mine... hang on, that means they enjoyed "How to Build a Castle".
Excellent!
One day I'll get round to writing the third installment...

Here are the two books mentioned...great covers for great stories!

Sales, Sales, Sales! Can you believe that?

Oh, it's all happening! Well, okay, there seems to be someone or a few people buying my books in the last few weeks, and not only the anthologies with other authors, but my OWN books... which is AMAZING!
Thank you, whoever you are. I know it's only one sale here, one sale there, but it all adds up and keeps me in good spirits knowing that somewhere out there, there's a reader!
Thankfully, the anthologies are always selling, which gives me some joy knowing that someone could be reading my stuff but for a moment...here are the ones...

...and then there are these...

...Circuits and Steam being a paperpack from 3 Fates Press - I have a great little story about Tracer in there... and then of course, my own books, two published by Line by Lion...

What can I say but THANK YOU! I hope you (whoever you are) enjoy the read!
(And maybe give a review or two? Please...)

WOW! Another sale?!? "How to Sink a Ship!"

Yes, this surprises me as much as anyone... someone bought another paperback of "How to Sink a Ship"!!!
Thank you, whoever you are...:-)
It's now at (or was yesterday)...

Here are the only reviews so far of my latest romp into the land of Norby and Co. If you have the time and the inclination, please go have a peek inside by using the link below...

"Pirates and Zombies collide in hilarious ways in this unlikely mash-up of genres. The result is pure laughter and distraction from the weightier matters in life. The style and tone is fairly reminiscent of Monty Python, and the writing is fantastic. Dani Caile has reached a pinnacle with this book. I wish someone would make a movie out of it so my wife and I could laugh ourselves to tears together!"

"A giggle a minute. To really appreciate this book, you have to have a quirky sense of humour. I loved it."

"Dani J Caile has used his brilliant dialogue to bring the book to life and to capture your imagination.
Fast moving and crazy with a hidden political message which doesn't show itself till the end. Very clever."

Dani's Shorts 3 at over 1000 FREE downloads!

Yes! The second compilation of short stories to go over 1,000 FREE downloads!
The tiniest of milestones in the publishing world but a large one for myself.
If you haven't got your copy, here's the place...
https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/470944

And here's the blurb from 2014...

"Wow, it's already Volume 3 of TIW shorts! The third collection of totally pointless exactly 500 Challenge and exactly 200 Weekend Quickie word nonsense (plus a few collaborations and extra TIW things) to entertain you while doing whatever you do when reading. For myself, it was a long and exciting half year in The Iron Writer. It has become a part of my life now, this TIW phenomenon, every week waiting for the next group of elements to hit the site and dwelling on the story which could link them all together in the style of my choice. It's thanks to this challenge that I can say I never suffer from writer's block - touch wood.
In this third volume, I have also included some collaborations and TIW ‘experiments’, such as the Genre Mash Up from Miranda Hawley and impromptu relays which mainly involve a new and highly talented young TIW writer, Mathew W. Weaver, complete in a suit of armour – he is the Iron Writer Protection Program, his identity is a secret. Other writers include Neal Sayatovich, Jordan Bell, and Tony Jaeger. I'd like to thank these writers for writing their words and allowing me to publish them.
In mentioning, I also cut the 10 worder 4 element challenge story "He tutted as she stood there in a mini skirt." (Challenge 45) down to a 'zhong', a form made famous by Ernest Hemingway, "He tutted as she smiled, naked."
To finish, in Volume 2, I separated the Weekly Challenges from the Weekend Quickies though now I see that some continuity of ideas was lost and so everything in Volume 3 is in chronological order to show the development…if there was one.
I hope you enjoy these short snippets just as much as I enjoyed writing them, and thanks again to Brian and all the other Iron Writers for allowing me into their community…I wouldn’t."

Over 1,000 FREE downloads! Dani's Shorts 2

Well over 1,000 free downloads for 'Dani's Shorts 2' now on Smashwords!
Excellent news, I hope people are reading those 200/500 word short stories and getting a kick out of them!

Find it here if you haven't already downloaded it for FREE!
(Free doesn't mean it's poor quality, it only means that people don't know me and I'd rather hand out my work so people can read it rather than let it rot in the Amazon desert of modern literature)

New Review of "How to Sink a Ship!"

A lovely review from one of my regular readers of my new(ish) book "How to Sink a Ship"

Good Omens review (TV series) *spoliers*

After one of my books was compared to Neil Gaiman's work, I researched and found that he'd beaten me to the punch by two decades, what with Lucifier, demons and angels, etc. He even has a mention at the beginning of each episode of 'Lucifer', a great little silly/shallow series - it's fun to watch, though its messages are... lacking.
Anyway, it's Good Omens I'd like to write about, which was finally put on film by Amazon (and not Netflix as those protesting against it think). Neil Gaiman co-wrote it with Terry Pratchett. I was a fan of Pratchett when I was a teenager.
Crowley and Aziraphale, demon and angel, lead us through, with occasional flashbacks in the history of humanity, the last few days before the expected Apocalypse where the Anti-Christ is revealed and the final fight between Heaven and Hell begins and Earth is destroyed.
Unfortunately, Crowley and Aziraphale have become attached to Earth after falsifying their reports of work for thousands of years, and do all they can to stop this happening.
The TV series is entertaining, as with anything Pratchett, when it focuses on its two main characters, with all those around as merely 'cardboard cutouts', though there are a few other characters that do well from the series, namely Anathema (descendant of the witch Agnes Nutter), Newton Pulsifer (descendant of the man who executed Agnes Nutter), Shadwell (BRILLIANTLY played by Michael McKean) and Madame Tracey (Shadwell's landlady).
From a British perspective, Crowley and Aziraphale are like a 1950s platonic gay couple. As for the 'world' built within the book/TV series, it is unbelievably similar to my own from my first 4 novels, though I have never read Gaiman's work up until now and Pratchett's Discworld novels were different to this.
Good Omens is one of the best things out there in TV land at the moment, though I was actually expecting more from it. The jokes/humour seemed... overdone or overinflated, much like the jokes in Upstart Crow, the British TV 'sitcom' series about Shakespeare. I'll leave that for another time.

So, because of this I might be back to writing...

After seeing the Writer's Games 2016 paperback edition is now out of print, I decided to re-issue "Six More Fantastic Short Stories No One Gives a F#ck About" with the BEST story, Éjjeli Mászó included.
Here's the great new cover below! ...no, I didn't take much time over it, hell, who gives a f#ck?
And here's the link to the paperback and kindle! For those who wish to see perhaps the best short story work I've ever done. I might even make it free on Smashwords...

It's Nice to be Appreciated

Sometimes a word is all that's needed, sometimes a small gesture.
Today, out of the blue, someone who isn't known for reading books asked if they could read one of my books - out of pure interest. I gave one to them. I hope they read at least a few pages!
I gave them a copy of...

And then I received an email from my favourite sci-fi writer commending me on my 'great work' reading/editing his latest book. It's so nice to be appreciated!

AND the other day I received a short message from an old student thanking me for helping them learn English to the level that they were now in the advanced class at university.

Impeccability. Work to the best of your ability. 'Cause you don't know when it'll all go black...

Free downloads up 65%! (+ NEW BOOK?)

Free downloads of my Smashwords books have gone up 65% since last month! That is a marked increase, almost getting to the 500 per month point, which would be nice!
https://www.smashwords.com/books/byseries/2766

Free downloads of "Rage" didn't go so well, but well over 1000 people (mostly for free) have that already, so I guess I've hit my 'small fish pond exposure ceiling' with that one.
I'm finally having a look at my little sci-fi book "Gubacsi Dulu" which I started a few years ago but never finished. I wonder how a sci-fi would go in my 'small fish pond'?

Still editing the short stories for the new anthology but that'll come out soon...

New book coming soon, either called "The Death of the Reader" or "The Book that Could Never be Read".

My daughter also made a tiny animation of my 'Weekend Quickie 8", found in Dani's Shorts 2, which is getting close to 1000 free downloads over at Smashwords.
Here's the cute little animation... what gets me is that she completed it, which is more than I can say for others...

19th MANNA-X Review!

Yes!
I now have my 19th Manna-X review! After five days of FREE ebooks, with almost 500 copies downloaded across the world - the majority on Amazon.com - I have my 19th!!! ...I haven't kept up with the quantity of Manna-Xs out there, somewhere. Probably about 3000+ now, maybe more - though very few were actually bought. But hey, I'm not a 'name'.
So, the review?
Well, it's a 3 star, the first for Manna-X... BUT if you have a quick look at the review, you can see that...
1. The person is in some way religious or has faith in God - therefore it could be difficult for them to like Manna-X, which IS irreverent, as they say..
2. The person doesn't like Douglas Adams, which is the style of Manna-X, basically.

So, considering this, 3 stars is FANTASTIC! "...written very well and with some great dialog" YES! Thank you!
If you did download Manna-X and just haven't got around to reviewing it yet, here's the link...
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00D94CWF0

And...
Here's the short but succinct review! Thank you, 'Kindle Customer', you brought me one step closer to the 'big list'. Thank you!
 Absurd January 17, 2019
Absurd and irreverent, but ultimately only very silly. If you don't like Douglas Adams, you won't like this. Still, written very well with some great dialog.

Please READ and LEAVE a REVIEW!....In Search of TWO reviews...."Manna-X" FREE AGAIN

Yes, I'm in search of reviews, yes, more reviews for "Manna-X".
I have heard that if a book gets 20 reviews, it is put on a very long list of Amazon books and distributed in some way to readers among the Amazon reading community. If it has 50, then it goes up the list, etc.
So. the more reviews a book has, the more 'exposure' it gets among the reading community.
..."Manna-X" has 18 reviews...I need TWO MORE to try out this 'rumour'.
Can anyone please put on a review? It's a fantastic book, and I hope someone can  put on an  honest review...well, two people at least?...maybe...
